Past Projects

Good Neighbors Group has been involved with a variety of organizations and projects.  Below are just a few.  These projects couldn't have happened without the help of our neighbors, friends, family and community.

We Care and Friends Annapolis, MD – ongoing fulfillment of wish lists for a variety of personal and household items, provided clothing for all ages, house wares, furniture, food, swimsuits, school supply-filled backpacks and holiday gifts for families.  GNG has also organized volunteers and fundraising efforts for We Care and Friends and financial assistance for We Care clients.
YWCA of Anne Arundel County MD –donations of gently used or new clothing and shoes (for women, children, teens, and babies) books, toys, furniture, and baby equipment have also been made.
Kennedy Krieger Institute Baltimore, MD – donations of puzzles, toys, games, books, pajamas, and slippers
Food Link Annapolis, MD – donations of clothing and items for ages 0-2 and pregnant women, baby equipment, diapers, wipes and layette items
Virginia Hospital Medical Brigade – Medical Mission to Comayagua, Honduras - donations of clothing for every age, shoes, hats, stuffed animals, toys, toiletries, medical supplies and equipment and dental supplies
Anne Arundel County Food and Resource Bank Crownsville, MD – donations of food and furniture, fundraising efforts and volunteer assistance
Books for International Goodwill Annapolis, MD– donations of books
Bunny Magic Rabbit Rescue and Sanctuary Lusby, MD–provide foster care for homeless rabbits, donations to fundraising yard sales and volunteer assistance
PIGS a Sanctuary WV – donations for fundraising flea market
Maryland Animal Sanctuary and Rescue Baltimore, MD – provide foster care, administrative assistance, volunteer service, donations for fundraising yard sales and financial support. Make dog toys sold to offset veterinary bills.
Hilltop Elementary School Ferndale, MD – donations and drives for winter gear (coats, hats, gloves scarves, sweatshirts, sweaters, socks, shoes), school supplies, First Aid kits, gift cards, items for school incentives program, books for students and library, holiday gifts for families, teacher wish lists, sweatpants and underwear for nurses’ office, solidified relationship between Folger McKinsey E.S. and Hilltop for Folger to support and provide for various of the above drives
UNICEF – organized students and neighborhood to trick-or-treat for UNICEF
Woodside Elementary School, Glen Burnie, MD – developed relationship between this school and Severna Park E.S. where Woodside received a new book for each student, school supplies, classroom supplies, backpacks filled with schools supplies, turkeys for Christmas baskets for families, and teacher wish list items
Chesapeake Treasures Consignment – proceeds to Hospice of the Chesapeake Severna Park, MD – donations of clothing and house wares
Freecycle (Annapolis and Glen Burnie groups)– provide many items to “Freecyclers” in order to keep discarded items out of trash
Renovation Station of Arundel Habitat for Humanity– donations of goods for resale to benefit HFH
Chesapeake Children’s Museum Annapolis, MD – donations of supplies. Costumes and toys
Anne Arundel County Network of Care Annapolis, MD – fulfillment of family wishlists
Annapolis Family Support Center Annapolis, MD – donations of business attire for “interview closet”
Harmony House Pasadena, MD – donations of toys, clothing and cleaning supplies
H.O.P.E. Glen Burnie, MD – donations of house wares, clothing, shoes, yard sale items, and toys
North County High School Glen Burnie, MD – donations of prom dresses, shoes and makeup
Anne Arundel County Board of Education Annapolis, MD – donations of office furniture and supplies
Severna Park Elementary School Severna Park, MD -  donation of toys and books to Speech Therapist, children’s clothing to nurse’s office, books to media center
Temple Beth Shalom Arnold, MD – connected individuals and organizations to this temple which was closing a building, diverting thousands of pounds of furniture and supplies from the landfill
Project School Supplies Donation toward construction of indoor classrooms at Santa Rosita School.  Collection of school supplies and Spanish language books.
